NADRA B-Form (CRC) and Juvenile Card Guide: Fee, Documents and Steps (2026)

How to make, renew or correct your child's B-form, what it costs, and when it expires, taken from NADRA's own pages.

Updated 25 October 2026. Fees and rules checked that day on NADRA's fee structure page and NADRA's CRC / Juvenile Card page. Government fees change without much notice, so confirm there before you pay. MyBook.pk is not linked to NADRA.

The "B-form" most parents ask about is NADRA's Child Registration Certificate (CRC). NADRA describes the CRC and the Juvenile Card as identity documents for children under 18, issued under Rule 18 of the NADRA (NIC) Rules, 2002. They are a child's first entry in the NADRA database and prove who the child is and who their parents or guardian are. You need one for things like a child's passport, so this is usually the first ID paperwork a family does.

B-form (CRC) fee and processing time 2026

NADRA's fee table has a single row for the CRC that covers all categories:

DocumentNormalUrgentExecutive
CRC / B-form (all categories)Rs. 50, 7 daysNot offeredRs. 500, 1 day
CNIC / CRC cancellation (due to death)Free, 1 dayNot offeredNot offered

Documents you need for a new B-form

Does the child have to come? Yes, if the child is over 3 years old, and always for a Juvenile Card. A child under 3 only needs to come if the CRC is being made for a passport, because the passport process needs the child's photo on the CRC.

Tip: NADRA says a mismatch between the CRC and the Union Council birth certificate has to be fixed on the birth certificate first. So check the child's name, date of birth and parents' names on the birth certificate carefully before you go.

Steps at a NADRA Registration Centre

NADRA lists these eight steps:

  1. Take a queue token when you arrive.
  2. Biometric verification of one parent or the guardian.
  3. The child's live photo, and fingerprints where they apply by age, are captured.
  4. The child's details are entered and checked.
  5. A parent or the guardian attests the application.
  6. A short interview or approval by the officer in charge.
  7. You pay the fee.
  8. The document is printed.

To find a centre, use the "Find Nearest NRC" option on nadra.gov.pk. NADRA lists 977 inland registration centres, 15 mega centres and 237 mobile registration vans. We could not find one timetable for all centres on NADRA's site, so check your centre's hours before you go. Our NADRA, passport and CNIC guide has more on centres and the helpline.

Applying on the PakID app

NADRA's PakID app (Android, iPhone) has options for a new Juvenile Card, renewal, update and reprint. NADRA's steps:

  1. Download PakID and create an account or sign in.
  2. Choose "New Juvenile Card" (or Renew, Update or Reprint).
  3. Fill in the details and upload the documents.
  4. Visit a NADRA centre if asked. NADRA says biometrics and the photo may need a visit.
  5. Track the application in the app.

NADRA also says the CRC fee is charged in rupees after currency conversion when you pay through PakID. Parents living abroad can apply at a NADRA centre abroad, a Pakistani mission, or through PakID.

When a B-form expires, and the Juvenile Card

Many parents don't know the B-form expires. NADRA's table:

DocumentChild's ageBiometrics takenExpires
CRC (B-form)Up to 3 yearsNone (photo needed if the CRC is for a passport)At age 3
3 to 10 yearsPhoto and irisAt age 10
10 to 18 yearsPhoto, fingerprints and irisAt age 18
Juvenile CardUp to 10 yearsPhoto and irisAt age 10
10 to 18 yearsPhoto, fingerprints and irisAt age 18

The Juvenile Card is a card version of the child's identity document. NADRA says a child can get one even without a CRC. While a CRC is converted into a Juvenile Card, the child's name or the father's name can be corrected with supporting documents. If the child has duplicate CRC records, one must be cancelled first. At 18 the child applies for a CNIC, and the Juvenile Card stops being valid once the CNIC is issued.

Renewing or reprinting a lost card needs the Juvenile Card number. Corrections follow the "Change / Correction in Identity Documents" chapter of NADRA's registration policy.

Special cases

Family Registration Certificate (FRC)

The FRC is a separate NADRA certificate that shows a person's family members. NADRA says it is mainly used for immigration, visas and legal work. It can show your birth family (parents and siblings), your marriage family (spouse and children), an adoption family, or both. You only need the applicant's 13-digit ID number (CRC, Juvenile Card, CNIC, NICOP or POC), and family members should be registered with NADRA.

FRC typeExecutive fee and time
One family (birth, marriage or adoption)Rs. 1,000, 1 day
Both familiesRs. 2,000, 1 day

NADRA lists the FRC in the executive category only.

FAQ

What is the B-form fee in 2026?

NADRA lists Rs. 50 for the normal category (7 days) and Rs. 500 for executive (1 day). There is no urgent category for the CRC.

Is a B-form needed for a child's passport?

Yes. NADRA says a valid CRC with a picture, or a Juvenile Card, is needed to apply for a Pakistani passport for a child under 18. See our passport fee guide.

Does the B-form expire?

Yes. NADRA says a CRC expires when the child turns 3, 10 and 18, so it has to be updated at those ages.

Can I make a B-form without a Union Council birth certificate?

No. NADRA says a birth certificate from the Union Council, Cantonment Board or CDA is required first. For a child born abroad, the foreign birth certificate or S-1 form is used.

Can a mother apply for the B-form alone?

Yes. NADRA says either parent, or a legal guardian with a guardianship certificate, can apply.

What happens to the B-form at 18?

The child applies for a CNIC from NADRA. The first CNIC in the normal category is free.
