Passport fees, ID card fees and where to go, taken straight from NADRA and the passport office (DGI&P).
Fees last checked Oct 21, 2026 on nadra.gov.pk and dgip.gov.pk. Government fees change without much notice, so confirm on those pages before you pay. MyBook.pk is not linked to NADRA or DGI&P.
Most people land here with one of three questions: how much a passport costs, how much a CNIC renewal costs, and which NADRA office to go to. A quick note first: passports are issued by the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGI&P), not by NADRA. NADRA issues the CNIC, smart card, B-form (CRC) and FRC. You will run into both because DGI&P has passport counters inside some NADRA Mega Centres, and you need a valid CNIC before you can apply for a passport.
These are DGI&P's fees for the ordinary machine-readable passport (MRP), in force since 7 March 2024 (normal and urgent) and 8 May 2024 (fast track). Children under 15 only get a 5-year passport.
| Pages | Validity | Normal fee | Urgent fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 36 pages | 5 years | Rs. 4,500 | Rs. 7,500 |
| 10 years | Rs. 6,700 | Rs. 11,200 | |
| 72 pages | 5 years | Rs. 8,200 | Rs. 13,500 |
| 10 years | Rs. 12,400 | Rs. 20,200 | |
| 100 pages | 5 years | Rs. 9,000 | Rs. 18,000 |
| 10 years | Rs. 13,500 | Rs. 27,000 |
| Pages | 5 years | 10 years |
|---|---|---|
| 36 pages | Rs. 12,500 | Rs. 16,200 |
| 72 pages | Rs. 18,500 | Rs. 25,200 |
| 100 pages | Rs. 23,000 | Rs. 32,000 |
Fast track is only offered in the cities on DGI&P's list (47 at the time of checking). If you apply at an Executive Passport Office (EPO) or a NADRA Passport Processing Counter (PPC), NADRA's service charges are paid there on top of these fees; DGI&P does not list that amount on the fee page, so we have not either.
The clock starts after your application is processed. Courier time to remote areas and to missions abroad is extra.
The chip-based e-passport is available from all passport offices in Pakistan since 16 August 2023. It comes in 36 and 72 pages only, and fast track is not available for it.
| Pages | Validity | Normal fee | Urgent fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 36 pages | 5 years | Rs. 9,000 | Rs. 15,000 |
| 10 years | Rs. 13,500 | Rs. 22,500 | |
| 72 pages | 5 years | Rs. 16,500 | Rs. 27,000 |
| 10 years | Rs. 24,750 | Rs. 40,500 |
Aged 10 or over: an updated CRC (B-form with fingerprints and photo) or a Juvenile Card. Under 10: a CRC (B-form) or FRC. Bring photocopies, plus both parents' original CNICs or passports. One parent or a court-appointed guardian must come with the child.
You can renew before your passport expires; DGI&P may ask why. To change your name, father's name or date of birth on a passport, get your CNIC changed at NADRA first, then go to the passport office.
File a police report that mentions the old passport number. The first loss costs double the normal fee and the second loss four times; a third loss is referred to DGI&P headquarters in Islamabad.
DGI&P's online passport service lets you apply and pay by debit or credit card, then receive the passport by courier. Online renewal is for passports that have expired or have less than a year left. DGI&P says online renewal is open to both inland and overseas Pakistanis; details are on the online passport page. The online fee is not refundable or transferable.
From NADRA's official fee structure. Days are NADRA's stated processing times; for PakID applications NADRA says the clock starts after you pay.

Other NADRA charges worth knowing:
A CNIC or smart CNIC for an adult is valid for 10 years. Overseas Pakistanis using a NICOP pay in US dollars on a different table on the same NADRA page.
Go to a NADRA Registration Centre with a blood relative who already has a CNIC. NADRA also lets the process be started from that relative's PakID account, but you both still have to visit a centre to complete it.
NADRA's PakID app (Android, iPhone) handles CNIC renewal, modification, lost-card reprint and non-printable field updates, so you may not need to visit a centre at all. You can also do all of these at any NADRA centre.
NADRA's site does not show a single document checklist we could verify for each case, so for anything unusual (correcting a parent's name, marriage or divorce, a big age change) call 1777 before you go.
NADRA's homepage (figures updated 31 August 2026) lists:
Finding the nearest NADRA office: use the Find Nearest NRC button on nadra.gov.pk to see the centres near you. We do not copy addresses here because they change; NADRA's tool is the up-to-date version.
NADRA office timings: we could not find one timetable for all centres on nadra.gov.pk, so check your centre through the locator or ask the helpline before you go. The helpline itself runs 24/7.
DGI&P runs passport processing round the clock, Monday to Sunday, at these offices (morning 8 am–4 pm, evening 4 pm–midnight, night midnight–8 am):
Other passport offices are open 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, with a prayer and lunch break from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, and are closed on public holidays. You can apply at any passport office, whatever address is on your CNIC. The full list is on DGI&P's passport offices page, and the passport helpline is +92-51-111-344-777.
For a 36-page machine-readable passport, DGIP lists Rs. 4,500 (normal) or Rs. 7,500 (urgent) for 5 years, and Rs. 6,700 (normal) or Rs. 11,200 (urgent) for 10 years. Fast track for the same passport is Rs. 12,500 (5 years) or Rs. 16,200 (10 years). Executive Passport Offices and NADRA passport counters add their own service charges.
DGIP gives 21 working days for normal, 5 working days for urgent and 2 working days for fast track, after successful processing. Courier time to remote areas and missions abroad is extra.
NADRA charges Rs. 750 (normal), Rs. 1,500 (urgent) or Rs. 2,500 (executive) to renew a smart ID card. The older non-smart CNIC renewal is Rs. 400, Rs. 1,150 or Rs. 2,150.
Yes. NADRA lists the fee for a new (non-smart) CNIC in the normal category as Rs. 0. A new smart NIC costs Rs. 750 normal, Rs. 1,500 urgent and Rs. 2,500 executive.
Only partly. NADRA says a first-time CNIC can be started from a blood relative's PakID account, but the applicant and that relative still have to visit a NADRA centre to finish the process. Renewal, modification and lost-card reprint can be applied for on PakID.
We could not find a single timetable for all NADRA centres on nadra.gov.pk, so check your centre through the "Find Nearest NRC" button there or call the 1777 helpline (open 24/7). Passport counters inside NADRA Mega Centres in Lahore and Karachi run morning, evening and (at some) night shifts under DGIP's 24/7 scheme.
DGIP lists Mega Center Egerton Road (Lahore), Mega Center Nazimabad and Mega Center Siemens Chowrangi (Karachi) for morning, evening and night shifts, plus Peco Road and Sanda Road Mega Centers in Lahore for morning and evening shifts.
A duplicate smart NIC costs Rs. 750 normal, Rs. 1,500 urgent and Rs. 2,500 executive. A duplicate non-smart CNIC costs Rs. 400, Rs. 1,150 or Rs. 2,150.
