Saba Qamar: Two Decades of Dramas

Saba Qamar biography

Saba Qamar was born on 5 April 1984 in Hyderabad, Sindh (The News), and grew up largely in Gujranwala. She began acting in PTV dramas in 2004, and for a decade she worked on almost every channel in the country: PTV, ATV, Geo, ARY, A-Plus and Express. Many of those early serials left little trace online, which matters for this page (see the note under the table).

The 2010s turned her into a lead. She played Surraya in Dastaan (HUM TV, 2010), which won her the Pakistan Media Award for best supporting actress (Dawn). Tinkay brought both PTV Awards for best actress in 2011 (Dawn). Maat (2011), Sannata (2013) and Digest Writer (2014) followed. In 2017 she played the social-media star Fouzia Azeem (Qandeel Baloch) in Baaghi, which won her the Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress (Geo News). The same year she starred in the Hindi film Hindi Medium opposite Irrfan Khan.

She has kept taking risks since then: the courtroom drama Cheekh (2019), the crime thriller Fraud (2022) and the film Kamli, which won her the LSA for film actress in 2023 (HUM News). In 2025 she returned to HUM TV after seven years with the telefilm Mohabbat Youn Bhi Honi Thi, then Case No. 9 on Geo and Muamma on HUM TV.
