Lodhran is Multan’s younger file. Until 1991 it was a tehsil of Multan District. The river on the south is the Sutlej. The name is a tribe: Lodhra. When the British cut a tehsil here on 5 May 1883, zaildar Malik Ghulam Hussain Lodhra offered the word and it stuck.

Lodhran — 1,111 km², 809,205 people, literacy 50.10 percent. City about 144,512.
Kahror Pakka — 778 km², 547,761 people, literacy 49.81 percent.
Dunyapur — 889 km², 571,333 people, literacy 55.66 percent.
Cotton and mango (including white Chaunsa). Wheat and cane fill the year.
Siddique Khan Kanju — minister of state for foreign affairs under Nawaz Sharif; killed at his Kahror Pakka farmhouse in July 2001. Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju has held the NA seat and served as minister of state for overseas Pakistanis.
Jahangir Khan Tareen — agribusiness, federal industries minister, later PTI organiser; Lodhran by-elections in 2015 and 2018 became national stories. Ali Tareen has carried the surname into later races.
Siddique Khan Baloch — PML-N, 2018 by-election winner, 2024 winner from Lodhran-II.
