Iqra Aziz: Dramas, Awards and Family

Iqra Aziz biography

Iqra Aziz started young. A talent agency signed her for commercials as a teenager, and producer Momina Duraid cast her in Kissey Apna Kahein (HUM TV, 2014). Dawn's 2018 Icon interview gives Karachi as her hometown and describes how her mother raised the family alone. In a November 2017 Instagram post on her official account she said she had "turned 20", which matches the widely reported birth date of 24 November 1997.

Her lead in Muqaddas (2015) won her the HUM Award for Best TV Sensation. Through 2016–17 she worked constantly, in Choti Si Zindagi, Laaj and Khamoshi. 2018 was her breakthrough year: Suno Chanda, a Ramadan comedy opposite Farhan Saeed, and then Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, in which she plays Noori opposite Imran Ashraf. The second won her the Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress (Critics' Choice), announced in December 2020 (Images Dawn).

In 2021 she starred in two very different serials: the social drama Raqeeb Se, which won her the 8th HUM Awards jury prize, and Geo's Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3, opposite Feroze Khan. The second was a huge hit on YouTube, though critics were less kind.
